Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA) and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India invite you to the first-of-its-kind mechanical elephant procession at the Shree Madh Nagalapura Veera Simhasana Matha in honour of the temple’s commitment to never hire or keep real elephants.

An extraordinary 3-meter-tall, 800 kilograms, and life-size realistic mechanical ceremonial elephant procession will be the first to be held in a temple in the district of Kolar. At an annual festival on 25 November, the Chief Swamiji of Shree Madh Nagalapura Veera Simhasana Matha, Shri Tejeshalinga Shivacharya Swamigalu, his followers, temple devotees and members of CUPA will join the procession.

Mangala Vadhyam and other traditional performances will follow the procession.

Using mechanical elephants, real elephants can remain with their families in their forest homes and be spared the suffering of being constantly chained, controlled with weapons, and deprived of everything natural and essential to them.

What: Historical procession of a realistic mechanical ceremonial elephant in the presence of Shri Tejeshalinga Shivacharya Swamigalu, his followers, temple devotees, and members of CUPA

When:  Monday, 25 November, 11 am

Where: Shree Madh Nagalapura Veera Simhasana Matha, Nagalapura Village, Kolar District, Karnataka

Vegan snacks and beverages will be served.
